Forno Tony: Authentic Italian Bakery & Pizzeria in Rochester

I’ve gotten Forno Tony many times and each time I go in I can’t leave without practically getting each kind of pizza available. So so good!!! We just ordered pizza off the catering menu for my bday party and it was wonderful - everyone was raving about it. They were so friendly and even drove to our home to deliver it. Cannot recommend enough!!

Mama Mia! This is the real deal folks. It was like walking into an old school bakery in Rome. Italian music in the background, Soccer on the tv, Gelato, Focaccia, Pizza, fresh made sandwiches, etc. They have limited hours and you’ll like be in a little line to get in the door but I promise you it will be worth it! It’s take out only and get there as early to opening as you can. Regardless, they are pumping out fresh pizza, desserts, etc. all day until they close. Don’t walk. Run!

Forno Tony is exactly what Rochester was missing! Their atmosphere is welcoming and gives a sense of community. Their food is delicious and the owners are so passionate at what they do! I utilized Forno Tony for my bridal shower desserts. The owners were so accommodating! We had great communication and they helped make the day go smoothly. We ordered Cannoncini’s and a variety of Maritozzi. The desserts were a hit and everyone raved about how amazing they looked and tasted! I’m so happy with my experience and highly recommend them for your next event! And going to watch a soccer game at their bakery!

One of the best traditional Roman style pizza cafes outside Italy (gives Bonci a run). I love the classic scissor cut & weigh which is always appreciated when you want to try different styles/types and you can tell them how big or small you want it. There were 3 different styles when I was there - a focaccia, a pizzette and traditional Roman. All 3 were fantastic! As you can see by the pics the crumb on each were beautiful, clean and high quality toppings. The dough had good flavor for a 24hr rise, solid chew, and a great crisp. Hydration was a little low, but that’s me nitpicking. This place is an absolute gem, thank you Forno Tony and Rochester for making my trip worth it.

This is not your average mom & pop bake shop. These people are extremely skilled bakers and their product is unlike anything available in town, perhaps in the county, or further Pizza is the start. The crust is the perfection of the roman style, light, crispy, with just enough chew to the crumb. Sauce is just slightly sweet with a perfect bite. The Gelato is all made from scratch, unbelievably rich and flavorful. Pastires are to die for. Do yourself a favor and come try this place

Unbelievable quality baked goods made by equally high-quality people. Across many visits I’ve tried nearly everything on offer: pizza, pastries, panini, breads, cakes, cookies, etc. All of them are crafted using the finest ingredients and taste as if you bought them straight from Rome. The prices are more than fair, and everyone working there is friendly. An absolute must-try while in Rochester. Forza Forno Tony!

I only tried 2 things but I am already dying to go back for the gelato and other goodies. If you’ve ever been to Italy, biting into the food at this place almost makes you shed a tear The person who waited on me was helpful as he could tell it was my first visit. Love a good local business. I will return for sure.

The pizza is amazing! But be ready to spend a pretty penny. Oh and it’s always PACKED so you have to get there early. Would be nice if they had a menu with what’s in their pizzas even if they’re not always available, pricing listed anywhere so people aren’t shell shocked (pizzas are sold by weight, not slice)
